indicator-session-gtk2 software package provides indicator showing session management, status and user switching, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install indicator-session-gtk2
indicator-session-gtk2 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the indicator-session-gtk2 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep indicator-session-gtk2 *
You will get with indicator-session-gtk2 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
